The Resting Place

A Discipleship House just for women.

The most critical season for families impacted by adversities, like substance abuse, is the transition home after a treatment program.

After two decades in ministry, we found most individuals and their families feel alone and stressed during this transition back to everyday life, which sadly often leads to relapse. Research shows a healthy living environment and strong social networks are critical aspects of continued progress and recovery.

And we believe the Body of Christ should be the primary healthy living environment and strong social network for families during the transition home.

That’s why Hope House For Our Families offers Christ-centered counseling, support groups, and housing options for men recovering from life-dominating challenges, like substance use.

Currently, operate two discipleship homes for men Ocean and Salem Counties, NJ.

In June 2022, we launched an 8-bed discipleship house in Jackson, NJ, where six men currently reside. Then, in May 2023, less than one year later, we purchased and opened a second home in Woodstown, NJ, for five more men for the same purpose of ongoing discipling and transitioning back into everyday life. In both locations, the men are connected with a local church for continued spiritual development, mentoring, and support.

But women need a soft landing too when they transition home. From the first use to substance abuse, women progress faster in addiction.

Recovery for women looks different than for men. Because of increased social stigma, sexual trauma, and childrearing responsibilities, successful recovery involves overcoming different barriers.

That is why in 2024, we are believing the Lord for a third house, just for women.

Our discipleship houses and biblical counseling services provide ongoing support for growth and long-term sobriety so men and women can successfully transition back into their families, churches, and communities to rebuild thriving lives.

We hope you will prayerfully consider sowing into future generations of families by becoming a partner through our Legacies of Hope Campaign.

Help us help families find healing and hope through Christ!
